There was no business plan. Tom and I were just driving around, opening packs and filming it under the name Lotad Cards. Road trips, pulls, and way too much money spent on sealed product. That was the whole thing.
Our friends at Uptown Cards and Collectibles let us set up two tables at a Waterloo night market for free. We barely made anything that first time, but we had a blast. Talking to other collectors, making trades, watching someone finally find the card they'd been looking for. That part was addicting.
So we just kept doing shows. Night markets, conventions, whatever we could get into. I'm based in Toronto, Tom's in Waterloo, and ROTO's is whatever table we're set up at that weekend. We're not trying to be the biggest. We just genuinely like doing this.
